Salesforce Business Analyst

Roles and Responsibility:
1. Requirement Gathering & Documentation

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to gather business needs and pain points.
  • Document functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and Functional Specification Documents (FSD).

 2. Business Process Analysis & Mapping

  • Analyze existing workflows and business processes to identify inefficiencies.
  • Design and document As-Is and To-Be process flows using tools like Lucidchart, Visio, or Draw.io.
  • Work with teams to implement process improvements using Salesforce.

3. Writing User Stories for Projects

  • Create detailed user stories to define business requirements in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Ensure each user story has clear acceptance criteria and is properly aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the development team to refine user stories and prioritize the backlog.
  • Example of a Salesforce User Story: “As a Sales Manager, I want to receive automatic email notifications when an Opportunity is moved to the ‘Closed Won’ stage, so that I can track revenue more efficiently.”

4. Salesforce Configuration & Customization

  • Collaborate with Salesforce Admins & Developers to configure Objects, Fields, Workflows, Flows, and Reports.
  • Identify where custom development (Apex, Lightning Components, etc.) is required vs. declarative solutions.

5. User Training & Change Management

  • Develop training materials and user guides for end-users.
  • Conduct user training sessions and ensure smooth adoption of Salesforce.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical users.

6. Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Create test cases and assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Ensure that Salesforce solutions meet business requirements before deployment.
  • Identify bugs and work with developers to resolve issues.

7. Data Management & Reporting

  • Define data migration strategies and assist in data cleansing.
  • Work with stakeholders to design custom reports and dashboards.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Salesforce.

8. Collaboration with Stakeholders & Teams

  • Work closely with Salesforce Developers, Admins, Project Managers, and Business Teams.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions between IT and business teams.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and deliverables effectively.

9. Continuous Improvement & Best Practices

  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases and new features.
  • Provide recommendations for Salesforce enhancements and process automation.
  • Advocate for Salesforce best practices to improve system efficiency.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud
  • Experience with Flows, Reports, Dashboards, and Data Management
  • Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams
